...screen head units. i've been looking around for options for a good, viewable screen for the front, and had found a nice pioneer head unit that was a screen only, but it looks as if the upper "lip" of the dash may cause problems with this type of unit.

i've seen a few pics here on the site of the AVIC-N1, and others, but can't really tell from them if the screen angle is downward because of the lip, or if the head unit is mounted further out to compensate. the audio shop i've gotten some of my stuff at looked at the dash, and said it wouldn't work, but since i've seen it done here - and i'm sure a few rodeos have had this same install with this dash - i know it can be, but wanted to get some feedback on how others have overcome the "lip" issue.

i've thought about the savv rear-view mirror, but would like to do the in-dash thing - any help or advice would be appreciated...

I think our dash is the same.

I have the AVIC-N1, and if you set the slide to stay fully out, you can actually tip the screen back a few clicks.

I usually leave it straight up.

I have the XM hooked up now, and doing the camera probably this weekend.

I've got a Clarion (VR630??) and have no problems with the lip at all. Can actually tip screen upward slightly. So I think you'll be fine. As for the Savy, used to have one when I bought the VX and it was very cool. But the thing was HUGE and a real pain in the driving visibility.

My 2 cents!
