Holy **** man! ;eekg; How much lift? What exactly did you do for lift? What size wheels and tires? That thing looks huge... is it just me? Look'n good!
Coach... I mean Randy (I often forget who I really am) ;)

hey all, I have a calmini suspension that I modified to make it about 4-5 inches of suspension and I built a 3 inch body lift out of a trooper kit. for wheels I have 20 inch dantes and for tires I have 36 inch swamper IROKS. as far as ride quality, I have had more of a problem with the wheelie effect than tipping over sideways(and i get my rally on). pics of me parked on a geo prizm are soon to come

But those tires will wear FAST . Don't plan on more than 15-20 road miles with those babies.

EXCELLENT ! best lifted VX I've ever seen, I hope you sent a pic to TRUCK TRENDs readers rides contest. That's one VX that can TRULY be called a BEAST, I'm sure no one will call that one cute.;)

That looks wicked cool. How many dollars did you invest to complete this lift project? How about a wheelie picture? Many kudos!!!

I bet you lost ALOT of performance with those big tires.

I dont have that much money into the lift. The calmini suspension cost me the most, I think it was about $600 shipped to alaska. The body lift is a 3 inch calmini made for the trooper2. The body lift kit was only about $150, but the killer there was time. I had over 25 hours into the body lift install. As fo tires, They are a 36x13.5x20, and that is the widest I can go w/out serious cutting.

The Calmini Springs sag after a short period and bounce too much. OME 919's would be much stiffer and taller.
The Shocks are way too soft not so good.
The front bump stop extensions are not needed.
You could make your own brake line extension bracket.
The Trac bar extension and rear bump stop extensions are useful.
You made your choice though and I hope you are pleased with it. I know what it is like when someone bags on your project and you thought you did your best.

I don't think it's the tire width that's the issue, but the offset. I think a lower offset would give the truck a wider stance, which would sort out your proportion issue. Right now, it looks like a skyscraper. To suit my taste, it should look more like a pyramid. :)

Yep, that's what I guessed. Just lift her another 1ft and get some wider meat. ;)
I had 33x13.5s on an old Toyota pickup and she was nasty looking. Heavy offset on the rims was needed since it only had a 3" lift though.

I think it looks like a bada$$ VX. You can always play with wheel offsets and wheel/tire widths & combos to suit YOUR tastes!
I just know if I was in my Fiero and saw THAT THING in my rearview mirror I would be "concerned":right:
LOL!
Can you say intimidation!

It's a good thing he lives in Alaska, not only would I be concerned if I saw him in the rear view mirror, the last thing I would want to see is that beautiful BEAST parked next to me, then it would really make mine look "CUTE" :mbrasd:

I am looking at the OME 912 lift (~2.5"),
The KMC Venom's in 16" (Spazz's wheel type-Zero offset)
Off road mudders in 295/75/16 size.
Should be about 11.6" wide and 33.4" tall.
I know I'll have to cut, question is: Will it work with the equipment I've listed above?

Just my opinion but I think the wider one is over the top, unless you plan on monster truck rallays. Me likes yours just the way it is.;) (just as long as it's not parked next to mine);Db;

Good job Whaleboy.
Over the top? And the skinny ones arent still "over the top" (no pun intended)? I think that if you wanna go that high in the first place, you should aim high (no pun intended AGAIN!). Them fat meats look awesome!
But, it is D's VX.... it's still very nice regardless. AFterall, its a VX.

The wider you go the heavier they are. You are probably pushing your axles and CV's to the limit as it is running 36's. Be prepared for breakage. Especially if you "use" it!

I know the front axles will wear quick and break sooner. I can hear them clicking when in 4 low. in regular drive mode the T.O.D. is disenguaged and I have manual hubs, so it is in 2x most of the time. but when the c.v.'sblow up, I have an excuse to go w/a solid axel front end. oh ya'

go with a GM 1 ton IFS front axle with high angle drive lines and locked and you would be bullet proof.
