How many miles do you want me to put on my VX!?! I'll pass on this one. Besides... my VX will be getting detailed that day! Gotta have her nice & shiny for the next weekend. :goof:
No suggestions, on where to meet, but I will be there...

What about the Ft. Worth clan? Doc and Rob...are yall coming too?
Let's see if we can get 8-10 VX owers there.:)

Ya'll should meet at Chewy's off of Mockingbird... GREAT mexican food and plenty of cerveza.
I’d like to do Chuy’s as well since I haven’t been to the Dallas location - Jay, it is a drive for you - where is it relative to:
American Airlines Center
2500 Victory Avenue
Dallas, Texas 75219
Show starts at 7:30 so we need to be there at least an hour before that.

It is in the same general area as AAC, so that's not a problem. The West End is also down there and has many choices.

Hey Y'all:
I should be able to join in the fun. I called Doc again to let him know about the gathering...this time he called me back!!! He's still around and still got his VX. He's in the process of buying a house back in Ft. Worth pretty close to me, so he can't make next Sat. but hopes to make our next one.
I'm trying to get a guy in Arlington to attend. He was a salesman at the Arlington Isuzu dealer and picked up a gray VX. Good guy.
How 'bout that Denton VXkween......are you gonna join us sometime??? I don't think my life will be complete till I see a Proton up close and personal. Rob A.

OK, 3:00 p.m. at Chuy's. That'll give us time to talk shop in the parking lot unless everyone wants to meet earlier somewhere else and drive down to the resturant later.

Mainly a social gathering just to hang out and compare mods, B.S. and such. There are always questions like "How did you do that?" etc. You can get lots of good info, and seeing it in person helps.
Since the Austin guys are not able to make it we can do this at any time Sat. that works for everyone. So everyone chime in again, we can also pick a place more central to everone if that will help the Ft. Worth folks.

If the reason for meeting up in Dallas was the Austin crew, it would be great to move the gathering somewhere in the mid-cities...grapevine? If the time was moved can vxkween and kristyremo make it? Let's hear from you gals.

Could definitely make it if it were around 12. Have to be home by 4 to get ready for a wedding! Mid cities area is fine.

Tone/Lisa:
Any word on making the VH concert? I don't think we should be changing the meeting time and location if you guys are still coming up Saturday, unless it also fits your schedule. Rob
We can’t make it unfortunately so please meet at a more convenient time for everyone else - sorry we can’t be there to meet the new folks but I’m sure you all will make them feel welcome. I got a mail from an owner in OK who is going to make it.

OK, 11:30 am at Don Pablos parking lot at the junction of 121 and 114 in Grapevine. We can take a poll if everone wants to eat somewhere else. There are a ton of resturants right around there.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VX is in the shop this morning. They "may or may not have time to get to it today". Last night, on the way home from softball, some guy was being an ***** & wouldn't let me over on 121, so I punched it, & BOOM! Sounded like I blew a hole in the muffler or something. Looked like the muffler separated from the exhaust, but it was too dark too tell. PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me that its something THAT simple. I am totally BUMMED that we can't make it tomorrow, but I'm more stressed that it'll cost a bunch to fix......
Dallas4u
09/24/2004, 09:38 AM
Did you actually get up under there with a flashlight and look at the exhaust? Did you notice the seperation? If that is the case, then it is a 5 minute job, and you should have it in no time.
Good luck!
KristyRemo
09/24/2004, 10:06 AM
Nope, didn't have a flashlight. Had to use a penlight. =/ I'm HOPING it'll be a 5 minute job!
Thanks for the mail Tom. I appreciate it.
Sounds more lilke the EGR nut came undone. Either way, you could drive to the meet and have one of the guys check it out for you - it will not hurt to drive it that way but if it is the EGR, you may have some dimished performance.
Jay, bring your 22mm wrench.....

Yeah, let me second what Jay said. It was great to see everyone again.
Peace.
Tom
P.S.
Yesterday, I ran into another Ironman owner from Plano. He's had his since '99. He wasn't aware of the board, but now hopefully he will post.

This is what I was thinking. It's happened to the best (most?) of us!
Decent pics... people at meets should take more pics of the owners as well! I like seeing what belongs to whom!

Well, it ended up costing me $100 bucks, & I didn't even get her back until this morning. Jacka$$es said they just didn't have time. =/ They said the exhaust separated from the muffler & had to be re-welded. Oh well. It's fixed & back in shape & I'm happy. SOOOO wish we had been able to make it to the meet. When's the next one?! I'm ready Freddy! =P
