Well, I'v purchased a pioneer avic as well, but one question that remains is:
Where do I put the brain unit?
If any of you guys/galls installed one by yourselves, I would apreciate any tips or advice or things I could run into.

Under the right side seat.
Removing the seat, and peeling back the carpet will reveal the TOD brain, and behind it a large piece of formed felt. discard this felt. There will be enough room to screw the gps brain there.

I did the same thing...under the driver's seat. Installing yourself is a breeze. Just running the wires throughout takes time and patience. I installed the gps magnetic antenna up near the vin# location as there is a metal plate for it to stick to.
Also, check out the following link as I posted pics of where the speed sensor wire is located to splice into. Believe it or not, THIS was the "hard" part.

Anyway, good luck and have fun with the unit.

Thanks Ron,
I saw you live near the Bay area?
I've been there a coupe of years ago, stayed at the berkeley marriot hotel, and had a very nice meal at SKATESat the bay .
I went there to visit a guy who had his car for sale at Fantasy Junction. And wound up buying custom bicycle parts at a shop called square wheel.
I don't know if these places still exist but I had a wonderful time over there.
Yes, I had lunch once at the Marriot's in Berkeley a couple years ago and it's very plush along with excellent cuisine to boot!
Skates is located at the foot of the Berkeley fishing pier and in the same area where I teach windsurfing on weekends at Cal Adventures at the Berkeley Marina. Great view at night as well as seafood. Just a short distance down the road is another restaurant called H's Lordships also a highly recommended 2-story building with an excellent view of the bay and the city across. Lots of banquets and weddings held there.
Never heard of Fantasy Junction. Maybe in the city?
I live about an hour away from the bay but commute everyday to work and back. If you happen to visit again in the bay area, give me a jingle! :)
