View Full Version : Headlight/lamp moisture?

I have a question about our headlight casing. I recently had both my headlights replaced due to the amount of 'peeling' or 'fogging' that's been documented on this site....

The replacement happened on Monday. I go out this a.m. to head to work and see that there's moisture in the top most part of the casing (where the 'nipple/bump' is). I haven't washed the VX since it came out of the shop, and it's garaged so I eliminated the morning dew factor...

anybody else have this happen? What gives? Faulty 'new' headlights?

Thanks in advance.

Some moisture on a newly installed housing is ok and running the lights should take care of that. You may want to verify that they reinstalled the dust/moisture seal completely or at all - check for a round rubber item around the back of the lamp assembly. Drain tubes in the seal should be facing down. I ran without those for awhile and got mucho condensation and dust in there - bad, bad thing.
