Go easy on me I'm new!

I have a 1999 VX (not purchased until 2001) with about 27,300 miles. I've read various posts here, and see a couple entries about a leaky intake gasket. Is that a common problem? Also is it not covered under warranty. I've talked to a dealership that will charge $320 + tax to have it fixed. Is that normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The dealer should pay. If they won't then they are trying to weasle their way out of a defective fixing. I'm not sur ehow to make them, though. I had no problem. Took a month and a half, but finally done. No probs (at this moment).
