It seems my battery went bad over the weekend. So I opted for the Optima, red top. According to Optima this baby is "bullet proof", it can be installed upside down, and uses some sort of spiral cell technology, In fact, if these things would have been around 40 million years ago, we'd still have dinosaurs today! Well, it sold me, to the tune of $129 bucks. However it looks great installed beside my red painted engine cover. I think some of you use Optima batteries and was interested in your opinions on this line of batteries?
Excellence or Marketing Hype ?
One of the best with a 2 yr non-prorated replacement deal that the yellow and blue tops don’t have. First mod I made.

I put the Optima Yellow Top. No problems to date. I went with the Yellow Top so I can add more Toys without having worry about messing up the battery.

I understand that they use a gel technology, thus the mountability. Also super resilient to vibration and heat/cold. The yellows are the real deal and for high load capacity stereo, and accessory needs. The red tops can work in this as well but obviously are not deep cycle. There are also to different red tops that I noticed as well.2 types. I got the higher. Its all cold cranking amps!! Go Big-
P.S. I got some trick post mounts made by tsunami, they are titanium, look like bullets, and are slick. Gold connector hardware. They are found in good stereo shop. Look slick with the Optima for sure-

I have a red top in mine since the factory unit died at 18 months. I love it - used one in my 95 Supra for years. I'm even thinking of putting a 6v red top in my 47 Caddy.
