Last nite was my once a year get together with 10 old friends I've known for 30 years. We always meet at a fancy restaurant in Newport Beach. Well, we've all done well for ourselves(doctors, lawers, etc). well the talk always gets to the what- are-you driving conversation. "My new Porsche this , my new Mercedes that". we go to leave and I say"I have something I bet no one has ever seen" I take em out for a look see and they were shocked "WHAT THE FU#C IS THAT!!" A
couple of the guys are car guys and they were impressed to say the least with the design.

"How much?"

"60 grand if you can find one"

"Wow, that sounds pretty good"

G'nite boys see ya next year.

It's amazing how "What is it?" is always followed by "How much?". I usually give a straight answer, but my wife usually tells people it cost "50". It's amazing that nobody ever questions it. Maybe if we hang on to them long enough they'll be worth that much.

That'd be a tough call at "50", can't think of another vehicle I'd rather have. But I guess I could get 3 good used ones.

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't feel the need to lie about my machine.

When people ask what it is, I tell them its a trooper with a fancy top, and when they ask how much, I tell them. I don't wish to be accused of compensating.

It is nice to keep in touch with friends. As the years go by you can see how friends have suffered and grown. The moments are always enjoyable.

In the words of Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal) YEE HAW!!!! ;)

I remember seeing the sticker being 45g's when the VX first hit.

I saw an ad for one went down to the local dealership, saw the sticker and stepped back.....from what I remembered.

thank god i wasnt shopping for one then, right now im seeing them at around 11-14K, holy crap, 32K is a lot of money... u can get a premium luxury car for that kind of money - but then again it wouldnt beat a vx... errr i want one more and more everyday...

Tell me about it. I paid $32k when the VX FIRST came out and I still kick myself. I knew the price would drop, but I never expected it to drop as much or as fast as it did. It's taken me 6 years to pay this baby off (and I've got ONE payment left... WOOHOO!).
