I wanted to know if anyone knew how to tell the difference between the PV1 and 2. Markings? Size of inlet/oulet? Physical size?

I bought what should be a PV2, but it only has PV on the side and has 2 1/2" inlet/outlet. I thought I saw a pic on the site before that showed one with "PV2" on the side.

One other thing, what is the difference between performance/horsepower gains of the two?

Tried the search function, but didn't come up with anything definite.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I took some measurements: Circumference is about 17 1/4" and lenght is pretty much right on. Looks good.

Thanks Redline.

Anyone else have any other tips for telling them apart? Or is that pretty much right?

Well I got some info straight from the horses mouth. I emailed "Featherfoot", aka John Finnell, maker of the late PV series.

He replied and said the PV1 is 7" in diameter and 26" long.
PV2 is 6" in diameter and 15" long.

After a little geometry; I got roughly the same numbers for the PV2.

I didn't realize how BIG the PV1 was.

Now the next step; Hooking it up and seeing exactly how LOUD it is. Keeping my fingers crossed.
