Intake gasket bad-warranty coverage??

Hi all,
Yes my engine code 0171 was diagnosed by cerami pontiac/isuzu as a need new intake gasket. Is this ever covered by the isuzu warranty?
Now that I'm the SECOND owner, over 3 yrs on the bumper to bumper warranty, the dealer tells me I dont even have a drive train warranty now.....is that true?

My understanding if the second owner is not family of original owner, then the original warranty period was halfed. My 2000 VX came standard with a 10 year- 120000 miles Limited powertrain warranty. if your 2001 VX was the same then you should have 5 year 60000 miles.
