Hi folks -
Well, I am finally ready to lift the VX and slap on some decent tires. I've done my searching and here's what I came up with for a list of what I want/need to accomplish this.
285/75/16 (32.8")
Goodyear MT/R's
$759.85 for a set of four shipped UPS ground from tire rack (www.tirerack.com). $174 a piece. $63.85 shipping.
OME912 Coil SPrings (from Old MAN EMU).
http://www.rocky-road.com/trooper.html
Need 912 medium duty. $139.38 shipped second day from the link above. Free shipping and $1.38 for insurance.
Crank Torsion bars / Flip Ball-Joints(labor/free).
Steel Braided Brake Lines.
http://darlington-offroad.com/item.html?UCIDs=534357%7C1134065&PRID=1194461
Sale Price: $169.95
Or
http://www.independent4x.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=839915%7C1016330&PRID=1221569 for about same price.
Questions for you now. For those with these mods. How have things been? Everything holding up well? Anything you regret? Any problems or things to look out for?
I factored in the normal/expected problems like worse gas milage, added stress to the CV's, need to trim the cladding etc. I'm looking more or less for advice. Maybe you wished you had a different tire size or shopped somewhere else for better deals? That kind of stuff. Like if you could do it over again would you change anything on the list?
Any reason I should not go this route with the parts above?
Also have questions about rotors. Kinda want the rotors in the link below.
http://www.truckperformance.com/products/?searchtype=4d&sortorder=Anone&productcategory=Brake+Rotors&category=Brakes&mode=change&sf1=ISUZU&sf2=1999&sf3=VEHICROSS
But is it really needed. I have read the stories that the stocks are fine. If performance is minimal can some one point me to cheaper rotors that work just as well? I believe the stainless brake lines should be sufficient along with new stock rotors.
Thanks in advance for all your help. You know it's greatly appreciated :)
