bought the set of 20'' rims/tires from NYC#1 ironman, and had them on today. they look KOOL~~~ thx to NYC#1 ironman.
and i had a questions with these new shoes, hope anyone can help me out here. thx
does the heavier wheels affect the mpg? i don't know the weight of the original ones, but these wheels weight 75pd each.

here are some pics of them. they look a little rough, i will make some better shots in the weekend and repost them.

Why worry?
the gas mileage is lousy anyway! ;)

Any change in the tire and/or wheel size will effect not only the gas mileage but also your speedo readings. You will loose a percentage of your speedo reading because of the rotation factor(which is now less with bigger tires). Your mileage will go down...not that it's that bad now

Your mileage will go down...

Not necessarilly! I get better gas milage with my 31's then I did with my stock tires! This weekend I go to 33's...will see what happens with those (they will mainly be off road only tires).

Hopefully the tires you got are close to the stock diameter so the speedo wil be on or close. You will see a loss in mpg, my stock wheels were 20lbs less than my 20s were, but my new 22s are 8lbs less than the 20s. I saw about 1.2-1.5 mpg loss with the 20s over the stock wheels.

I don't know why the mileage would go down with bigger diameter tires, in fact it would gear the tranny up which should improve mileage! It sure will make the mileage look worse though since it throws the odometer off making it look like you've driven fewer miles per gallon than you really have.
