So today was the day I went to get my 33's. After test fitting 33x12.5s I discovered that they were not going to come close to fitting. Could not even get a 1/4 turn without major hitting. So next we test fitted 33x11.5s. Same story! I don't know how those of you running 33's did it. Maybe I just need to turn my torsion bars up some more? Any way, I got new offroad wheels and tires but stayed with 31x10.5s My stockers will be my daily drivers). Here is what I ended up with...

Took a little test run with VXCaver (he was testing out his new front shocks)

When I get to Moab I need to see how you guys got those 33's to fit because they definately looked WAY better on the VX!!!!!!!!!!!

we did it with some pretty harsh cutting of the metal behind front wheels and relocating the cladding further back from where it was...believe me it was no minor trimming ...it was MAJOR for the 33 x 12.5's.

now the 32 11.5's required some pretty heavy cutting too, but they cleared with no problem.

I'm currently running 305 70 17 inchers which is like the 33 x 12.5's...belive me...major cutting, I can't stress

Yup, lots of work with the BFH adjuster to the rear fenderwell. I'm running 33x12.5 MTR's with a 3-1/2" lift here.

Looks great! What size wheel are you mounting a 31-10-50 tire on? Who makes it? Minor trimming on the dragon when installing 33-10-50s on 15 inch wheels :bgwg:

Triathlete -

It could also be offset or width of your wheels. They look like they stick out a bit further than stock, which will make clearance for taller tires more difficult. I've got the OME 912 / Torsion Bar lift and I was able to get my Nitto Terra Grappler LT285/75/R16's (which are 32.68" x 11.33") on stock wheels with only some minor trimming and pounding the rear of the front tire wells in about an inch.

Nice looking rims, by the way!

We tried several wheel/tire combo's and like Spazz "stressed" a LOT of fender pounding would have been required. The MTRs run a little big (compared to the BFG ATs). With the 33s it wasn't even close. The wheels I got have a 25mm back space so yes they do stick out a little further but even with more back spacing it wasn't happening. Before I get another set of tires I will do the nessesary massaging of the fender wells to get those 33's on. I can't tell you how awesome they looked! I will be checking out those wheel wells in Moab! :bwgy:

Oh yea, the wheels I believe are uniques. They are the fake beadlocks. I wanted the plain black crawlers but they didn't have any in stock with the center bore and back space. I got them at cost though so the price was pretty close! :naughty:

Spazz,

what a gallery man! Looked at all the pics. I would like to have the same roofrack. Any info? Thanks in advance. I also have the Ironman with the standard rack.
