Ok, I want to buy a block of billet aluminum to sculpt a custom grill for my VX, but I don't know where to look. Anyone have any experience with this stuff who can help me?

You'd be looking for one BIG chunk of aluminum, and considerable machine time involved in making a grill.
You can search online (there are metal sellers on the net) for an idea of prices and standard stock sizes. You would be looking at a significant purchase in material.

This is a neato grill that I found in the JDM. Dunno where I'd get one here though.

Your best bet is to find a shop that will mill your design for you--render it in CAD, then hone it out of a billet.

If you're tying to carve it at home, you can probably smelt ingots yourself. Not easy, but quite possible for someone who is already trying to mill his own custom grille.
