Joe. I've searched and searched but can't find your excellent "how-to" on transmission servicing. Can you please send me the link? Thanks...after pulling a trailer to Utah I want to say thanks to my tranny. Don

I split this off from the other thread to keep it on track...

Here's one link (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showpost.php?p=60529&postcount=6) However, not Joe's

But, here is a link to Joe's site (http://www.antiquecaterpillar.org/VX/) and you 'll find what you are looking for under the Technical Section.. Found this in the Web Links section in the menu to the left (More Site Links)

Thanks Scott!

I've been toying with and sketching an idea for a homebuilt transmission flush set-up that would use off-the-shelf PVC and compressed air. But with the way my project schedule has been going of late I won't throw any time-lines out there. It happens when it happens, but you'll here it hear first.

Compressed air, why? Gravity fed funnel and hose with a drill driven fluid pump is all you need.

That's how I've been doing it (no drill pump, didn't work) for the 4L30E on VX's and Troopers, but with a pressure system I can more precisely and quickly evacuate the transmission while providing a true flush, rather than a drain-n-fill. I've done about 6 of these now, and believe me I think there's a better way that's within the capability and wallet of the average owner.

Eh, sometimes I think I like to "help" too much! LOL! :bgwg:
