Engine Overreving

My 2001 Dragon Green 31k over revs when started and sometimes continues to do so. Any ideas? Thanks

There are a number of reasons this can happen. IF you do a search on "idling" you will have many posts on the subject. Perhaps through them you can find similar stories compared to yours.

What kinda RPM's are you talking about at initial start and at idle. Also, is AC on or off at start...

Sometimes hot, sometimes cold, ac on usually. Revs about 3500rpms.

I have the exact same thing happen on startup as well. I don't have any idling issues though. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't repeat the problem. I've tried searching on here as well, and coulnd't find any pertinent information on the startup issue!

Idle Control Valve or TPS sounds like it is sticking - located on the throttle body with 2 torx screws - remove and clean all areas with carb cleaner including butterfly valve. If not this, then probably a vacuum leak / cracked intake gaskets.
