What do I need to do to make my VX ready to tow a 18' trailer? Will the VX handle it?

I need to haul my mini monster trucks, weight will not be that much of a factor.

The VX tow specs basically duplicate those of the SWB Trooper RS: 5000lbs. So as long as you're comfortable and the load doesn't exceed the specs you should be in good shape. Just remember that things happen a lot faster with the SWB, but the plus is you get more manuverability too.

If you're planning on towing a lot with heavy loads and long distances you should also consider an auxiliary transmission cooler. If you haven't serviced your axles recently this would be a good opportunity to do so with a good quality synthetic such as Mobil-1.

So I want need to bolt on a super charger or anything like that.

That's nice to know.

Your good to go from an engine standpoint. Towing capacity is more a limitation of the power transmission components (tranny, TC or clutch & rear end), suspension and chassis capacity. You could easily pull 5000lbs if the VX had half the engine it does now. It would just take longer to get up to speed and steep hills would be a bit of a challenge.

Towing a 14 foot open trailer with 2 utility quads and with with the supercharger, I don't even notice it back there unless I look in the mirrors.
