does the trooper have the same engine/maintenance requirements as the VX, if so, does anybody have problems to have their VX serviced at an isuzu dealer, the reason I am asking this is that the isuzu dealer in my city has never serviced a VX, but they do service the trooper, so if the engine is the same, I will feel more at rest if they be able to service my VX correctly
thanks for any input, you guys have been great

Same engine - Rodeo, Trroper, Honda Passport, VehiCROSS - as long as it is the 3.5L Some of these came with different engine sizes over the years

The VehiCROSS is a Trooper, just with a different body and improved suspension.

But isn't the VX based on the Japanese shortened 2-door Trooper platform that was never sold in the US?

I edited the last two posts and eliminated descriptive words:

The VehiCROSS is a Trooper...

But isn't the VX... the... Trooper...?
*I* find it funny... but I have a weird sense of humor! :D

There was a 2 door Trooper sold in the US...late '80s I think.
The RS. And yes it is based on that frame.

The first SWB Trooper appeared on our shores in 1989 using the 1st Gen bodystyle, and IIRC there were only about 2500 brought in. Interestingly enough, it was related to the VX's predecessor the MultiCROSS.

In 1993 and 1995 the SWB Trooper was again available, this time in the 2nd Gen bodystyle with the new 3.2L DOHC engine. I don't know the total numbers on these, but they're pretty scarce. Overseas the SWB option was always available and looked pretty sharp in trail-trim with the hood scoop for the intercooled turbo-diesel.

The Fifth Element is my #1 favorite movie! However I run into lots of people who didn't like it or "get" it - unbelievable?

Anyone else listen to her on the commentary track of Resident Evil at the end, where she wakes up in the hospital? That chick is hilarious.
