I'm in the process of getting the engine removed and the number one big end fixed,I think, won't till I get it pulled out.
But I brought my VX back to Ireland and being the only other one out a grand total of two in the country, according to the Isuzu dealer here. I'm having trouble getting the ENGINE CODE, not he vin.
This is something that tells the mechanic the spec's for the engine. Each being slightly different for the other.( Japenese, American,European.)
This helps them scource parts and stuff.
This is what I've been told.
What I need is a location for this number, where it can be located, stamped or engraved on the car.
Any notion from you guys?
Appreciate the helps as always.

What year is your VX? If '97 or '98 you may have the 3.2L, which you can get out of any Trooper which there are plenty of your way. For that matter, you can get the 3.5L out of later Troopers as well. Better yet, get the 3.1L intercooled turbo-diesel with the 5-speed. Then you'll have an awesome VX that's fuel-efficient to boot!

There's a squarish, black plate riveted to the firewall which has all the build and option codes. I'm not sure what the UK engine code is, but that's typically where to find what's on your Isuzu.

This is a Califonia VX.
2000 dragon. Thanks for the pointer. I'll check it out tomorrow in the daylight and get started on the fix.
Some one mentioned changing out the engine to something else if the replacement wasn't available.
3.1 intercooled turbo-diesel 5 speed, Hmm now you've got me thinking,
Thanks for the options.
