Well it's been an expensive week on the VX. First I got a tune-up (plugs and fuel filter), changed the air cleaner, and installed a "new" MFS sensor.

Today I go back to Auto Zone to return the core. I had the guy hook the VX back up to the machine and now he tells me that I need a EGR valve or see if I can have it cleaned. The machine says, now I have massive air flow running through the EGR.

I hope this fixes my problem I'm running a little low on money.

I've got the power but it want idle or start worth a flip.
Any suggestions?

Does it crank over for a long time before it finally starts?...if so, it may be your fuel pressure reg.

take off two bolts, and clean the EGR before you buy ANYTHING new. It sounds like you're getting scammed to be honest.

if someone charged you anymore than $50 for new plugs and a fuel filter than you got ripped off. Those are EASY things to replace that can be done in an afternoon with a basic set of tools.

Looks like I got my problem fixed. It was the EGR valve. She was pretty stopped up.

Anyway it's running good now and the check engine light is off.

Thanks for the help on this forum. You guys know your stuff.
