Need to ask the '99 owners;
MY blue AC light comes on of course when I use the AC, but also whenever I have the selector knob directed toward one of the defrost options. ( think there are 2 if I remember correctly). It still blows heat to deforst the windshield, but the blue AC light is a bit confusing. Anyone know if this is normal and what the reason is if it is normal?
Thx

I'm not a 99 owner, but whenever you use the defrost option in any vehicle, the AC compressor is used. So, when you choose the defrost option (either defrost option on the VX), the AC compressor turns on, that's why your light is coming on. It is normal, so I don't beleive you have anything to worry about.

Ruflyf,
Completely normal...I've heard two reasons for the A/C being tied in to the defroster.
1. A/C air has less humidity, making it "drier", so it's more effecient removing moisture from your windshield.
2. The A/C pump turns every time you use defrost to keep the oil in the pump circulating, keeping the seals moist/lubricated during the winter.

Cool, thanks for the replies, I figured it was normal because everything was still functioning normally, just wanted to make sure. And understanding why is always nice.

My blue A/C light has been out from just about the get-go, but everything works. A tad annoying but not sure how to fix it.
