I know there are a bunch of post on these but mine seem to be shot. A bit lame for 29k and easy driving. I told the garage that they were going when it was still under warranty at the beginning of this year but they told me that they were fine. I'm going to try to see if I can get them to replace them but I'm doubting it. So my question is what the best replacement you guys are using?
Is the RS9000's the way to go? I see that that there are the new coil over but haven't checked in them. http://www.gorancho.com/products/shocks/RS9000X_remoteres_coilover.stm

Thanks guys,
Andy

My '01 VX was already equiped with the Rancho 9000's when I bought it, but I had test driven another '01 with ~30k miles that still had the stock shocks prior to my purchase. All I can say is that the Ranchos would be a very nice improvement if you choose to go that route. I don't know of anyone with the new coilovers, but maybe someone here has them and can offer an opinion.

That might be nice without the coilover. With that and the original spring you'll have too much rear spring rate, and it will cause the rear of the truck to kick out(oversteer)

You could run the coilover without the original spring.

The Rancho 9000's are a very soft shock, even on stiffest setting. The Billstein, or KYB are stiffer.
