Any body have an idea as to why the water temp guage fails to work after the engine has been rebuilt/
There is a sensor in the center of the engine beneath the manifold, is that the water temp sensor? If not what is it and where is the temp guage>
Thanks.

Pull off the lower console cover and get a look at your PCM -it is underneath your CD changer.
There are 3 connectors across its face, from left to right, C1/C2/C3. Check for continuity between the BLU/RED wire on C3 and the GRY wire on C2.
This is the sensor wire for the engine coolant sensor.

No continuity means that you have a bad sensor, or maybe just a bum connector.

The ECT is located at the front of the engine, just below and to the left of the throttle body. It has two wires going into it, a BLU/RED and a GRN. I don't know what the appropriate sensor values should be however.
