The new Audi R10 is sporting a V12 TDI diesel and 650HP. I'm working on getting up close and personal with it when it comes to Sebring in March.

Sweet. I can't wait to see a racing team adopt an electric vehicle for one of these races! :D That would be truly revolutionary!

It's not new, last year, BMW won SPA 24hrs in the touring car class with a 3 series diesel. Because it uses less fuell, they don't have to make may pitt stops.
Last week I saw something truly spectaculair.
A company named star twin here in holland has taken the engine of a VW Lupo tdi.
They made a new crankcase and gearbox for it and fitted in a.....................Motorcycle!.
By icreasing the boost pressure to 2 bar the original engine now gives 120hp.
It outperformes a ducati on the track and uses 1 liter diesel every 40 km's.(that's about 112mpg)

What do you think about that?
There are serious plans to take this bike with the aid of VW into production.

We've got a diesel bike here that's based on the Kawasaki KLR-650, but it's more of a go-anywhere-forever (102 MPG!) bike than a performance machine.

Yeah, that would be awesome. The motor technology is there, just the energy density of the batteries is the only holdback. Or a clean on-board generation technology. Like Mr. Fusion! :p
