I am the owner of a 01 ebony vx and I live in portland oregon, I am just curious how many other vx owners are in my area. Would like to get to know some of them. I have had my vx for exactly 4 years, and i have 18k miles on it. It is my daily driver but I dont have to drive every day which is very nice. Anyway Merry Christmas to all the vx owners out there and have a happy New year.

Welcome Austin from Seaside Oregon.
If you are out to the coast, give me an email.
I also spend half time in Astoria.

Hi Austen,

I'm just across the river from you in Vancouver. I have a 99 ebony with

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find tons of useful information on here just as I have.

Happy Holidays,

You have SHARKS in Oregon??!?

-I just read the story on Yahoo! news about the surfer. Tough stuff, I'll bet the beaches are empty.

Most populated beaches in Oregon are very flat with low tides 100's of yards from the high tide. It is very shallow between the waves and sharks will stay outside the break line. most people can wade out between the waves and still be in waist deep water. The water temp is cold enough that few would go farther. most beach goers are "Beachcombing" not swimming. I think there have been less than 6 surfers, and only surfers, attacked in 30 years. I believe that none of them have died, I only recall one getting hundreds of stitches.
Oregon beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, many are open to motor vehicles. (17mi. area just north of Seaside Beach)
Whale watching season has started, I doubt that this attack will have any effect on tourism.

In the Cove the surfers are out 300 to 400 yards. The surf comes in parallel to the north facing rocky beach along Tillamook Head and hits the west facing beach. I have pix from 2 years ago of surfers out there with snow on the beach rocks. Sharks may find the locals to cold to eat.
