Hi,
Just wanted to share with you my latest fun with VX's...
I recently finished 3 Tamiya Model VX Kits.

1. My VX... It closely resembles my own VX, with one addition... I wanted to see what a NACA Duct would look like on the hood.

2. Lambo Door VX... I know a lot of people have wanted to see what Lambo doors would look like on a VX... well, HERE IT IS!!!

3. Pimped VX... I lowered the 1/32 scale model and custom painted it with a Champaign/Silver-Pearl... GEORGEOUS in the sunlight!

I built these as a test-bed for possible real VX modifications.
My next model is going to have Gull Wing doors (Delorean style)...

Special thanks to Anita, who helped me acquire 2 of the models!

A colleague recently obtained the complete drawing set or plans on a cd to make your own lambo door hinges. Interested ?

a silly question perhaps...would lambo doors even work with VX given their weight? i am afraid to think whether windows will work :) also....can the door be opened as lambo AND in the regular fashion or it is "either...or" situation?

I've only done a little research on Lambo doors, but yes.. the weight can be supported and the doors would only work vertically with this mod. Many companies sell kits for larger SUVs like Hummers and Escalades.
See the below link for some pics of other kits:

As for the windows working.... well, um... that's another story.

After I cut the doors out of the body and held them in place, I noticed how big they were and how akward(sp?) it would be to get in or out. I really think that the Gull Wing option would be the best. The doors would NOT get in the way, and in my opinion would look WAY better. I can't wait to build that model next...

Alas, I doubt gull wings will hold the weight of the door :(

I built mine a couple years ago and had it sitting on my monitor here at work afterwards. Came in one morning to find it in pieces all over my desk. My office was clean and my trashcan moved, so I know it was the cleaners who destroyed it. I wouldnt have cared had they at least left a note saying "we did it, sorry!".

Jerks.
