Joe, which Lambo did you own? I've heard that the newer ones are way more reliable, though haven't improved as much as Ferrari.

I had a late S-model Miura with factory AC, so one of the dual distributors was omitted for a single 12-cylinder unit. That actually gave it a bit more "reliability" but it was still a royal pain of a car. I went from that to an '84 Porsche 928 and it was like going from hell to heaven, especially in the handling and comfort department. ;) Not to mention you can at least find 928 parts!

I think a turbine-electric setup with drive motors at each corner would be the ultimate VX retrofit. Call me crazy. ;)

The Miura uses a transverse mounted engine. Look closely at the engine photo I posted and you can see the differential and where the half-shafts mount. Plus, it's a really BIG pig of an engine.

Plus, it's a really BIG pig of an engine.I wouldn't call it a pig, by any means! It's less than 2x the displacement of our block and generates more than 3x the power output! Seems pretty efficient to me, if a bit hefty! In any case, more of a juggernaut than a porker!

This was way before the Coyote. Built in 1965 it had a top speed of 169 MPH. The fastest street legal car in the world.

This was... Built in 1965Actually, the Miura pictured here is a brand new concept from Lamborghini. Its styling is strongly influenced by the original, though, which is the car you're talking about. :)
