Has anybody removed/replaced the two red round reflector in the rear bumper cladding? Wondering if they are attached with sticky tape/glue or whether they are bolted on.
I have replaced my red rear side marker lens covers with amber lenses off of a Miata (they look cool!) and now all my lens covers are amber, except those rear reflectors. I have seen some round amber reflectors that look like they will fit...just have to figure out how to do it! Will update with my progress. Rob A.

Just beware. Depending on state law you probably will get pulled over for a light violation..
The red lenses are there for a purpose.. To indicate the direction of a vehicle.. Kinda like planes and ships, they have starboard and port markers so you can tell if you're going to hit it or not.
I'm sure they look good, but safety is a factor also..

Scott:
Thanks. Already checked...reflectors can be red or amber in Texas.
Anyway, DPS already has a number of reasons to pull me over if they choose.
I plan to keep the amber cover until all of my clear lense cover come in. I think I'll be legal, even with the clear covers, because the law in Texas reads that they must "display" an amber or red color. I plan to put in amber or red bulbs. Rob A.

Those reflectors have a pin projecting from the center back that goes through a hole in the bumper. A nut and washer holds it on.. pretty easy to get off, but you may have to take off the rear cladding to get to them.

Has anyone converted these red round reflectors in the rear bumper to additional working brake lights and/or additional running lights?

I was kicking around the idea of repalcing them with mini flood's, hooked up for extra backup light power. My N/V Camera works great when it's real dark but at dusk/dawn the extra lighting would help....

I bought some lights that fit over a year ago.
I just haven't found the time to do it.
Any color other than red from the rear, will get you a ticket, except turn signals.
Even clearence lights are red in the rear, amber on the sides.
If you look at Semi's with extra lights, you will see what is allowed.
Just like no red or blue visible, from the front.
Careful, or you may have an off road only VX.
