The Intake gasket on the 3.5 goes every 20k or so on my 99 VX.
Has any one discovered a better gasket than OEM or sealant
to use on Gasket?
Love the VX but its built to a lower standard
Sounds like it is being overtightened when installed. They are a hard plastic core with coated metal on either side. If overtightened, they will crack and leak. Do not use sealant on them.

I know you don't have a Supercharged engine, but the link below to a previous thread still talks about the ISUZU TSB changing the torque value from 18 ft/lbs to 13 ft/lbs.

I just had mine changed last week..I gave Merlin a call,he thinks they are a improved Gasket..The shop told me to get them at any parts store:confused:..No way..Merlin sent me the gaskets and the improved oil filter also front bearing seals.They also did my fluid change(I went for dino I can't afford synthetics:( ) My VX runs better than new..
