Okay, short notice I know but...
The last time Victir and I tried this trail we got lost (still had a great time) and spent 12 hours doing a 4 hour trail. That trip became know as the "VX Misadventure"! Bob has a new GPS to prevent us from getting lost again, so we are going to try it again. This time we are going backwards (will make it easier if any Phoenix peeps show which we hope you do. This trail is a 3-3.5 (at least the last time we did it it was...thats my story and I'm sticking to it)...I'm sure Victor will agree. So here is the vital info...

WHEN...Saturday 2-18-06 2:00pm (everyone can sleep in)

MEETING AT...the little store at Helmet Peak and Old Nogales Hwy (take I-10 to I-19...get off on Helmet Peak/Sauharita Rd...go east to light...store is on left) which is about 25 minutes south of Tucson.

Going to do the Gunsight Pass trail. Then it is a straight shot to I-10 back to town. Trail should take about 4 hours.

So who is in?

Bob (VXCaver) and I are both going to be there...
Who else?

HERE (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=877&cat=3014&page=1) are a few pics from our last trip to motivate you guys to come on down...remember last time we got lost so a few of these spots will not be in this trip (like the one of Vic stuck in the trench)........unless we get lost again. :_confused

WAIT WAIT! Now I remember... Im heading to Galamis this weekend. I bought a Quad a few months back and I have not had the chance to go to the dunes. This would be my first time in the Dunes with my Quad.

...If my plans do not go thru for whatever reason I will meet up with you guys and go tear up my VX. My baby needs new scratches if I get her back this week. Its currently at the shop. (exhaust leak, replacing fan belt(dry totted), replacing coolant hose at the rear of engine(dry rotted)) thats AZ for ya!

So, we made it out alive and didn't get too lost. This was a great trail that was pretty easy except for a few spots that we played at (there was a cool little ATV trail/track that I had some fun on...Bobs got those pics). The weather was great. Here are the few pics that I got...Bobs should be up later. I know he got some great shots of the scenery!

great pics! I used to work in Tucson and did some ghost-town hunting trails! Would have loved to join u guys!

mistermg: where did u get the Ironman? there was two on sale. both were near/around Azusa. One had 4 previous owners and a weird front alignment problem which thankfully for Anita's help, convinced me to keep looking else where for an Ironman.

Here are a few more photos from the day. For the record, we got a little lost a couple of times... but that's what makes it an adventure.

ARG! Looks like the 3rd VX missed out.... I was in Glamis all weekend. It was fun but way too many RV's and loud *** 2strokes around for me. I think Im more of a trail guy than going up and down the Hills. I just dont get the point. Then every 30 minutes we have to stop for someone to fix their Rails. Partying at the Dunes is just a big waiste of money. Next time Billy and Bob go on another adventure Im there. BILLY! when are you camping next?

BTW COOL PICS! :)
