Ok I just ripped 2 huge avi's (720x480 files are too large to post 255 MB and 1.14 GB) of the past MotorWeek episodes that feature the VX:

Nov 98 - episode - 1811, MN: New for '99: Isuzu VehiCross
- (mpeg verion is 12.1 MB)

Feb 99 - episode - 1823, R/T: Isuzu VehiCross
- (mpeg verion is 48.8 MB)

I have then made 320x240 mpeg versions to post on the site. I just sent Scott an email about getting them to him to host on the site.

I am trying to get the 2000 4x4 of the year video ripped also, but I am real busy...

Keep posted for the viedos to post...

I was just wondering if the videos are up somewhere yet. I'd love to see what MotorWeek had to say.

You could try U-Tube for hosting the files.

http://www.youtube.com/

I haven't used them yet so I'm not aware of any file size limits. However, I've seen numerous videos hosted here with no problems. Would still be better if they had a permannent home here on vx.info to make sure we don't lose them on the net.

:)

Thanks VehiX for that site... that should work max file size is 100 MB. I will try to upload tonight/tomorrow.

I also just ripped the Petersen's 2000 4x4 of the Year vid... the avi is 14 GB. I will make a mpeg of it also and try to get smaller to post.

Here is a page with info about what is in that vid:

The second video brought back some fond memories of the Big Island!, especially driving on the beach in Waipio valley. The "road" down to the valley floor is really narrow :freek: (barely 1 3/4 lanes), STEEP (4WD ONLY) & has exactly zero guard rails.
If you look around in the valley you can find the wreckage of several cars that made the trip in the "fast lane"...30's or 40's vintage if I remember correctly (before reliable brakes).
Really enjoyed seeing these.
Thanks again, Ldub

Awesome. Thanks for getting those up. It's cool to see what was being said when the VX was first introduced.

Thanks for the videos. I don't know what it is about youtube, but NONE of the videos ever finish downloading for me. I always get about 3/4 through downloading and it'll just stop.

really, really annoying.

Many thanks for making them available for all of us!

Is there any way they could be downloaded so I can save them for posterity - and for my personal offline watching pleasure? ;)

Awesome stuff, thanks so much.

Is it me, or does it look like that example was sitting a bit heigher up? Especailly the front, doesnt look like it has the normal "rake" to it.

Thanks for putting these up. I tried to get these a while back because supposedly you could, but they didn't return my calls and the online thingy didn't work either. Something like that. Neat stuff!
