View Full Version : Rock Sliders
I had my rock sliders welded on this weekend. I don't even notice the extra weight (120 lbs).
And as an added benefit it is no longer possible for cars to ding my doors.
Trucks can still ding me, but cars are in for a nasty suprise when they carelessly open up their doors full speed next to me. :)

Are these Tone's rock sliders?
Yes these are Tone's rock sliders.
I'll take some pictures this evening.
Actually they are Swordy’s initial design with some slight improvements - longer, wider and with a wider under-vehicle bar. And unfortunately no longer available - shipping is ridiculous and most any welder can fab you something in your own area for the same price.

Yeah... what SPAZZ said... I wanna see pictures and would like to see specs too if possible. I have a friend (or friend of a friend) who is an incredible fabricator/welder... you should see the rock crawler he's building... I'll get some pics and post them... may not be a VX... but damn its kewl! Anyway, back to the subject... specs/pictures please?!

Yeah Tone, please post plans or scale drawings if available. I didn't buy that plasma cutter to be a paper weight!

Wanna trade a couple sets for a plasma cutter???
I just tried to take some pictures. It's too dark outside. I'll do it in the morning.
Pics are here http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b3088a00a495
and I think Swordy had posted some dimensions - come to Moab and measure away!

They are steel bars (not cosmetic "step bars") that protect the sides of your VX from this...

or worse, this...

(no, he doesn't care anymore :goof: )
BTW... there were 2 other long-wheelbase Isuzus dinged at the same point on my first trip to the Badlands in Indiana, but none of the VXes!
I took pictures this morning of them installed, but I can't find the wire to connect my computer to my camera. I'll search for it tonight.

Could someone be so kind as to post the specs for the rock sliders?
A scale drawing would also be nice.
