Rack - Need Pictures

Can someone PM me with extreme close-up pictures of the OEM rack towers and how they mount to the VX? I have a buddy (McGyver) who says he will fabricate the towers and use Westin's Sport Rack cross bars for us.

He's pretty fackin good at this type of stuff.

One step further....I remember someone in the forum had a rack and two sets of towers...does anyone have an extra tower/towers to use as a template to get this job done?

Someone has to do it before the OEM racks reach $1,000.

Those Westin crossbars look like a great aftermarket replacement for the OEM roofrack. Good luck with getting the mounts made!

I'm thinking billet aluminum replicating the tower in it's entirety (with clip and cover, not just the metal base)

Should I have him "water jet" a VX logo on them?

I went ahead and forked out millions of dollars for a stock rack to have an accurate alpha.

We are well underway with the billet prototype (why he calls it a scrototype I will never know). It looks awesome. We have decided to use contoured solid billet aluminum for the crossbars as well. If that turns out to be cool, it might make it into production. Why? 'Cause F it, that's why! Otherwise I'll have the only set. :cool: :cool: :cool: :cool: ;)

Of Course I will post pictures when I can.

Anybody want billet aluminum accessories? If so, describe in detail.

A billet aluminum battery hold down bar could be cool it you cut it into a pattern or jet out a logo....

Ldub has a pretty cool one he made.

Any idea of the cost for the rack?

Are you gonna just provide the 'towers'...or the cross bars as well ?
