I just ordered a keyless remote on e-bay for my 1999 Isuzu Amigo.
Got the instructions for programming.
To program you need to turn on the key to ACC position then to Lock position then open and close the door a few times.
What does opening and closing the door have to do with programming?

What does opening and closing the door have to do with programming?
Remote keyless and alarm programming utilizes various switch (incuding the one in the door) sequences to accomplish various settings. The disparate relationship of the switches used is to prevent any accidental alarm or entry programming.
If it were just through the key switch you could possibly reprogram your system or even lock yourself out of the vehicle.

The seller claims this is from a VX but it does not look like any VX factory remote I have ever seen, may be for aftermarket alarm system?
looks like an axiom remote. could be for other isuzu's too, but not the VX.
