Have any of you had a problem with the skidplate screws on the top of the plate falling off? 4 of mine have fallen off luckily while I was washing it, so I still have the screws. They do not want to screw back in they just rotate and then kinda of hang in there. Any idea how to get them to stay back in?

I emailed Ron but have not heard back anything, so I am asking here.

Attached is a photo of my VX with the plate on... the chrome looking screws I am talking about are on the top of the plate.

Hey Dave: If your talking about the 7 cosmetic screws across the top, on mine I put a small dab of clear RTV on the short threaded area and taped each one down for about an hour. Nice Ride ! !

LOL...Sorry Dave,,, I used Loctite "SuperFlex Clear RTV" Silicone Adhesive Sealant. You can pick it up and any parts store or any Weather proof Silicone sealant will work. Even Home use brands (Exterior use, Tubs/Showers etc..) But I would stick to clear...

Thanks Steve, going to pick up some up later and try it. So just put a dab on the end and let it sit for an hour or so. Any other tricks?

Yeah, I painted my skidplate a while back. I took off the screws. Before I put them back on I went to the local dollar store and purchased some gel crazy glue. It has work great.
Peace.

You might place a piece of masking tape or whatevers handy just to assure a flush setup and keep it dry for a day or so...Good Luck
