I thought it would be interesting to see all the different plates that VX owners have. This is a very special vehicle that deserves a special plate.

I've had these over a year now and some people ask about the plates and not the VX (there not into cars much) some say they were just asking that same question when they saw the VX. And on the road many many Thumbs up.
And no. The cops haven't said anything about the dots yet..lol

Thanks for starting this thread and the responses. I just bought a 2001 Proton and while awaiting the title from the previous owner's bank, I have been thinking about what plate to obtain. Here are some selections I have considered so far:
VX
2001 VX
V CROSS
VEHICRSS (limited to 8 letters here in NC)
VEHICROS

i know it's simple (and a bit dirty :embarasse ), but most people think it's either "5" or "15".

I still haven’t gotten around to getting a personalized plate – but the front runners are:
AREA 51 (I know, I know - it’s already someone’s screen name here, but still)
UFO
SPACESHP
WHATZIT
For any of the first three, I'd have a license plate surround that reads, ‘My other ride is the Mothership’ :smilewink

I thought about a VX type personalized plate, but 'She Who Must be Obayed' who is British, (I was stationed there for 13 years) Has OI MATE (OI = hey) on her rig, so I went with TA MATE (TA= Thanks) Mate is Friend for those that were wondering.

Amnesia
10/16/2006, 04:51 AM
Mine is AMNESIA. The answer is the same no matter what they ask! Then they always get this sheepish, "I shoulda known better!" look.
(But to dig deeper, it is also a song from Tora Tora. I had another one of their songs on a previous car from "the day", PHTMRDR for Phantom Rider. I applied for GUILTY for one of my bikes, but Illinois apparently won't let you have that... or any other derivitive of it!)

Well, I finally settled on a personalized plate for the VX.
Two others I considered were "ILUVMYVX" and "VX=H4?"

Well, I finally got around to ordering a vanity plate – however; the fine folks at the DMV informed me that everything listed above was already taken, as well as several other backup choices – sooooooooooooooo…
After much mental consternation, trying to think of something befitting the VehiCROSS’ unique appearance, I finally came up with one that WASN’T already taken…

yea! i had that same thought.. then i realized that i drive a rare vehicle.. with 18" rims.. a huge roof basket on top with a full sized spare tire and a custom made gigantic light bar on the front... you could pick my vx out of a lineup of silver VXs... so now the only thing stopping my plates from being VX0563 is $50 cost of the plates.. id rather send the money to moncha

Sadly, that is a former vehicle. I was in the stoned age back then, and rarely took pix. Here is one that just happened to be near the computer, from after the 455 engine rebuild:
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/GTO455.jpg (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/GTO455.jpg)
And to allay anyone's fears, when I got the '66 convertable Goat, the original engine had been removed, so I saw no reason not to stuff in a balanced and blueprinted 455;)
The most photgenic the GTO ever was is when I sold it on eBay. First thing I ever listed. A guy came down to San Diego from LA the next day, paid cash, so I ended the auction early...
