I have two dip sticks on my JDM Vehicross. One is the normal engine oil one and the other is close to it and it has a retaining clip - does anyone know what this one is for? I assumed that this was for checking the gearbox level - is this correct?

What color is the fluid on your dipstick when you pull it out ???...

If it's red, get to a doctor :p ...oops,I mean, It's probably trans fluid.

If it's brownish, It's probably burned trans. fluid that needs to be changed.

I think I can speak for all your dipless VX cousins stateside...I'm jealous of that second stick ! ;)

If someone is interested in trying to retrofit a dipstick, I have the dipstick and tube from a 4L30E that I'd be willing to part with. $25 + shipping. E-Mail if interested.

If that is a trans dip stick, you are indeed in luck. Its no party checking your trans fluid level without a dipstick.
