Going through the forest in Moscow region, close to Chekhov.

More pics are coming. The cars are still clean more or less, hopefully friends made good shots of me just before return to the public road: it was hard to say what exact color this car under the dirt :-)

It is less than an inch and probably will not melt significantly until spring any more. Hopefully, in January we will have over 10" of snow to get more fun :-)

But we was amazed by the ice thickness: even though it is about 60 miles to the south from Moscow there was about half of inch of ice in some places while at Zelenograd (about 10 miles to the north) it is still very thick, just like 0.1".

If this keeps up, Moncha will have to add BabelFish to the side-bar!

Babel Fish does not help very much. Even though it translates the words into English (mostly), my brain still hurts trying to figure out what was said! :goof:

I never thought there was anything un-cool being said. I just love seeing what odd translations Babel Fish comes up with. Too funny!

This one time? At band camp?

No wait, wrong story.

This one time? Way back in 2002? I was walking down Tverskaya Street in Moscow. It was a dark and stormy night. Snowing, actually. I was trying to look Russian as I made my way down the street, meaning I had my head down and a stern look on my face.

Still, something caught my eye. I was in an alien land, but something seemed...familiar!

I did a double take and saw that I was walking past a muddy, snow and frost encrusted Vehicross! It REALLY stood out from all of the Volgas and Mercedes parked along the street.

It was a right-hand-drive model, so it must have been imported from Japan. And from the looks of it, it had been driven hard all the way across Siberia and over the Urals.

Still, it made me homesick for my own '99 Ironman...

[privet] stands for "Hello!" :-)

If you need to decrypt something (like the word "жёлтенькая" in the text above) let us know :)
