You think you got a clean engine?

    Think again...
I installed this home built oil catch can for about a week and look what it collected; oil that without the separator, would have or has been going to to the intake manifold and to the combustion chamber. Oil in the intake is not good it decreases performance.

That’s a good idea. I need to set something like that up to my 91 Montero. It has an oily film all over the inside of the intake and it starts to burn oil after it idled for awhile.
    Thanks for the info!

    Dude...SERIOUSLY...

While I agree, this DOES look like a good idea...

Your Montero burns oil because... IT's a MITSUBISHI !

I had a Monte before the VX, & while I liked the vehicle, it's oil consumption bordered on gluttony.

yeah an Oil-catch can is a cheap upgrade it and it provides a lot of benifit.

I've heard speculation on the planetisuzoo forums that the #1 cause of oil consumption is because of lax tolerances in the valvetrain leading to excessive amounts of oil escaping by way of blow-by gass.

FWIW my VX has 115K miles on the clock.. a previous owner (who was a mecanic) gave it a full valve-job around 100K miles... and it doesn't burn a drop of oil

LMFAO!!! You’re right. I got it for free and it runs, I use it for trips to the dumps and other dirty jobs.
