    Towing

Shouldn't even feel a SEadoo or a bass boat back there, as long as you don't exceed your hitch capacity and 5,000 lbs.

I tow a 500 formula car in a 6x12 enclosed trailer(1100lbs) with some tools and the VX does pretty good. can cruz at 80mph. but trailer is a pretty effect wind brake. The trailer does not seem to drive the vx at all.

you should be fine. I have a dinan hitch that required me to drill in the frame rails. I should have sandblasted and painted before i put on though. trail hitch paint must be the cheapest paint out there because michigan salt is killing it.

when i go in to get a hitch, is there anything in particular that i need to tell them, because the VX is made differently from SUVs as far as the small bumper. does anybody have a pic or advise on how to get the hitch put on so it will look good?

Tone sells a really great hitch kit. It looks awsome too. Really compliments the VX. Search this site for tons of info.

you have a few choices .tones hitch or there are a couple frame mount hitches. i have the dalan hitch. around $150. i use the hitch at work to move boats, and it is a very strong hitch.i have also towed a donzi classic back from capecod mass.and the other day i moved a 31 foot formula around the yard.here is a link for the frame hitches. http://www.hitch-web.com/vhitch.asp?...6&BPID=6#DALAN

Dalan hitch is only rated at 3500lb due to it’s poor design which also causes the removal BOTH rear tow points to install. This means your VX can no longer be extracted from a ditch or allow you to connect a tow strap to pull another vehicle out (10K rating needed for that). Also, departure angle is SERIOUSLY compromised with the use of this hitch on a non-lifted VX.

i posted some pics of the dalan hitch way over the rating of 3500 lbs .you tell me if it is a poor design.looks very weak to me ,gonna break any second.

just around the yard at work.that boat weighs at least twice the supposed 3500 lb limit of the hitch.in my opinion it is a very sturdy piece and if i ever get the vx stuck i wont think twice about putting a strap around it to get pulled out. shawn
