    Hemi V8

So, I was at the book shop yesterday flipping through the Jan '07 issue of 4 Wheel & Sport Utility mag...
A guy from TX shoe horned a 5.7l Hemi V8 mated to a 45RFE auto trans into his '04 Jeep Rubicon. He kept the Jeep T-case & had to fab new motor mounts of course. It looked like it fit nicely.

If one can stuff that in a Jeep, made me wonder what could be done to juice up the VX...

I believe he bailed out on that project and sold the VX. I could be wrong but if memory serves me well, that was the demise of that project.

Didn't Alaska VX buy it from him with the intention of completing the project?

I'd like to see a diesel motor in the VX myself. More fuel efficient, lots of torque - perfect for the way I use my rig now - for hauling and driving places my car won't go.

How many known VX engine swaps are there anyways? I know there was at least one rally VX with a 5-Speed tranny, but I don't know if the engine was swapped. I expect it might become more common now that a lot of VX'es are hitting 100k+.
