    New Interior Mods!

    ;Dr;
    Hi All,
I just finished my interior mods!

    • Changed Door Panel color scheme

    • Added VehiCROSS decal

    • Dash Face changed to silver

    • Added iPod Video mount - Modified a blank switch to make a mount

    • Installed iPod direct input connection to Sony stereo (Charges too!)

    • Installed Sub-box, 2 10"ers. Used my old 100watt HiPhonix amp... for now.... also, turned out to be a great guitar rack!

    • Modified the switch blank next to the mirror heater switch to be my Garage Door Opener!

    • Installed/hard-wired an AC Power unit into the dash.

Let me know what y'all think!
    Thanks!
    ---JIM---

    Great doors! I like them!
But... I still wish to cover all carbon-look interior parts with the leather.

Nice work! The door panels look like they should have come that way from the factory. Balck with red inserts like the seats instead of opposite.

Nice work! Im planning on repainting my VX and when I do I will also change the color scheme of the doors. I got one door pannel from ebay for $16 bucks! I just need one more.

    GREAT JOB!

Very nice indeed. How much time in total did you end up investing into this project?

    Talking Thanks!!!

With this 3 week (off and on) project, I had hoped to fix what I thought was an error in design on the red/black interior'd VX's from the beginning. To me, it just didn't make ANY sense to have RED door panels that touch BLACK back panels and a BLACK dash. The Carbon Fiber look was a nice touch, but after I turned the panels black, I saw the doors needed some more red... so I searched high and low for a color match (using my broken tailgate knob as a color guide ) I finally found the closest match at Car Quest... (I'll post the brand/model later). The paints(black and red) are designed to adhere to plastics (no primer). After the paint was fully dry, I sprayed a good couple coats of high gloss lacquer clear on each part. The red I wet-sanded w/2000 and buffed to high gloss... the Black I sprayed a coat of FLAT clearcoat to match the dash's sheen. WORKED PERFECTLY! The lacquer clear gave the strength they needed... VERY chip resistant. This WILL NOT go back to red. (well, it better not at least!). I left the front part of the carbon fiber alone after realizing that the CF comes in contact regularly with the side of the dashboard when the door is closed...
All in all, I gotta tell ya... I'm SUPER Happy with how this turned out! Raque Thomas, I agree with you... I think this is what the factory should have done in the first place

    Very nice!

Looks great. I am adding this to my list now too. Just never enough time to get all the projects done. Well done.

That's killer. I always thought the R/B seats were cool, but the door panels were way over the top for me. That's why I got the G/B interior, but now your giving me some ideas. Great mod, doesn't look like a whore house anymore! Give it a much faster look and not so fanciful.
