Question OME 912 vs. 913...what's the difference?!?

So a couple of weeks ago I ordered a set of OME 912's from Rocky Road. Then I sat back, contentedly waiting for delivery. Waiting. Waiting.

Finally, I called them today, just for a friendly update on shipping. Turns out THEY are waiting to receive a shipment of springs from ARB (ironically, ARB is right down the road from me in Seattle).

Rocky Road told me that they have no 912s in stock, but they have a set of 913 springs ready to ship TODAY, and they further claim that the 913s and 912s are very similar. The 913's MAY give a slightly softer ride...which frankly may not be a bad idea for the VX.

So: does anyone have real-world experience with either or preferably BOTH the 912s and the 913s? Should I wait another 2-3 weeks for the 912s, or jump on the 913s now?

You mean, call them instead of asking in here, or in addition to asking in here? I'm not sure that every ARB rep is required to test all of their OME springs on a Vehicross.

As a matter of fact, I DID call ARB in Renton, WA. Two weeks ago. After digging around for awhile, the sales rep said that they were essentially the same spring, except that the 912s are slightly longer = slightly more lift.

Rocky Road said that the 913s were "softer" = smoother ride. I hope that's the only difference! I also, believe it or not, searched this forum before making my post, and found some conflicting info. Some posts said the 912s were longer, some said the 913s were longer, some said they were the same but with different levels of resistance.

So, to sum up: ARB, Rocky Road and a lot of previous posts all gave different answers.

Which is why I made my post asking for anyone who has tested BOTH to please offer some input. I'm still hoping some kind soul steps forward with opinions, although I did already order the 913s....

I would say the 913's are longer considering the 919's are. It seems to make sense the higher the number the longer the spring.

Quote from official ARB reply: "Unfortunately we have no information on fitting the OME912 or OME913 springs to the Isuzu Vehicross. The OME912 springs were designed for a 2 door Frontera and the OME913 for a 5 door Frontera. Both are variable rated coils with the OME913 having 30mm more free height than the OME912."

1980 Jeep Cherokee (assembling): 1.5" body lift, TBI, HEI

Just installed 913s yesterday. I have about 50 miles on the some far and they are great so far. I currently have General Grabber AT2 265/70 16 and got 1.75" of lift for the install. To set my torsion bars I went by ride heights before and after, I will be visiting my thealignmentguy tomorrow to reset camber and check corner weights.
