Well I would like a newer year, no paticular reason other than may be in nicer condition.

The only tangible difference that I'm aware of is that the 2000 and 2001 models came with stock 18" rims (16" for 1999).

    Jesus.

Ok first, what is with the first 2 posts and the cage fighter stuff? Wasnt expecting that.

Anyways, my understanding is that besides the wheels, the only difference is that the 2000 and 2001 have better climate controls.

If you're leaning towards silver, the Astral Silver that came on the 99's is light silver. The Kaiser Silver on the 00 & 01 models is darker, pewter silver.

Another difference is in the warranty length. 99's had a 6/60,000 powertrain the 00's & 01's had a 10/120,000. Meaning 99's are out of time while many 00's & 01's are still covered. Mike

unless you buy it from a family member the chances of you finding a vx still under factory warranty are very low because as soon as the vx leaves the family of the original buyer, the warranty gets cut in half (5 yr 60k)... ive got one of the later VXs built (01.. vin 0563) and my warranty was up last october

    no worries and good question

doing some searching around the threads I thought isuzu engines were bullet proof just how bad is the oil starvation and oil eating problem? I had a 02 audi a4 turbo that seized an engine because the cam bearings were not getting enough oil. Do you guys drive in fear that your engine could take a crap at any moment or what?

2000 and 2001 models purchased new had the 120K miles / 10 year warranty. Second owner the warranty cuts in half. You are under the miles but over in years, unfortunately. On the other hand you are still under the limit to purchase an extended warranty, I believe. I know with Isuzu it is 50K miles.

    Thumbs up Thanks

    Anita-
Awesome, you come through once again.
I'll have to look into that.

By the way, I'll be in Newport off & on for the next couple of months, and I'm gonna meet up with Grimm soon, maybe we can all find a time to grab a bite or something.

    Thanks again.

Booster, the other thing to watch out for is the windows: there is a known issue with them sometimes not working, and you then have to fiddle with them a lot to get them to work. It can be frustrating, so make sure they either work, or if there is an issue, that they drop the price for your troubles.
