Another difference is in the warranty length. 99's had a 6/60,000 powertrain the 00's & 01's had a 10/120,000. Meaning 99's are out of time while many 00's & 01's are still covered. Mike

unless you buy it from a family member the chances of you finding a vx still under factory warranty are very low because as soon as the vx leaves the family of the original buyer, the warranty gets cut in half (5 yr 60k)... ive got one of the later VXs built (01.. vin 0563) and my warranty was up last october
ETLSPORT- (trying not to change the topic here)
How documented is that?
So my 01 that I'm the 3rd owner of, that has 44k miles is still under warranty?

doing some searching around the threads I thought isuzu engines were bullet proof just how bad is the oil starvation and oil eating problem? I had a 02 audi a4 turbo that seized an engine because the cam bearings were not getting enough oil. Do you guys drive in fear that your engine could take a crap at any moment or what?

its basically if u get "lucky" and get a flawed engine. out of the all the members in the forums, ive only seens maybe a handful of threads of ppl that blew their engines. just remember ot make sure u have enough oil at all times.Originally Posted by boostedte37
2000 and 2001 models purchased new had the 120K miles / 10 year warranty. Second owner the warranty cuts in half. You are under the miles but over in years, unfortunately. On the other hand you are still under the limit to purchase an extended warranty, I believe. I know with Isuzu it is 50K miles.Originally Posted by cyronman

Awesome, you come through once again.
I'll have to look into that.
By the way, I'll be in Newport off & on for the next couple of months, and I'm gonna meet up with Grimm soon, maybe we can all find a time to grab a bite or something.
Thanks again.

50 K seems to be the cutoff for extended warranties so dont take to much time looking. I know that along with Isuzu, credit unions also offer extended warranties.Originally Posted by cyronman
