We have four, three dogs and one cat. Molly is a black lab/collie mix. She is 15 yrs old, about 60 lbs. Unfortunately Molly has recently gone deaf and has some hip problems. We have two Shiba Inus, Rex and Princess. Rex is 7 yrs old, 22 lbs. Princess is 6 yrs old, 19 lbs. Our cat, Tria, is, I think, a domestic shorthair. She's a black and white tuxedo cat, about 1.5 yrs old, 10 lbs. Here's a pic of the canine crew...
Molly is one of the dogs my wife had in Ohio before we met and came with her when she moved here to Florida. Before too long Rex won us over at a pet store.
Here's another of Rex smiling for the camera. He loves cameras, laser pointers, and stuffed animals. He's grumpy some times but he's alright.
Princess used to be called Mia. The veterinarian told us they had another Shiba that they saw and that the owner needed to find a new home for her. The vet office believed she was being abused by her owners. We were the only other people they knew who had a Shiba, and they asked if we could adopt her. Well I couldn't say no. We took her in, renamed her Princess after a West Highland white terrier I once had, and she is a very sweet dog.
Apparently Princess was around cats before. She seems to have a real affinity for them. She is good buddies with our cat, Tria, and was immediately protective of her when we introduced her to the dogs. And if you're new and you're a cat, Princess is the friend you want to have. She is the smallest dog, but can whip them all. No joke. Anyway, here they are together...
I found Tria as a kitten in the middle of traffic on one of our city's busiest roads. She had a mangled tail and rear leg and was trying to pull herself off the road into the grassy median. I caught her and got her to the closest vet, who guessed her a 6 weeks old. She ended up losing both the tail and the leg, but she gets around like a champ. She is the sweetest, best pet I've ever had. Very, very affectionate and just a total sweetheart. My wife says the cat is the real love of my life. :-)
Here are a few previous relevant threads from the time I found her...

And here are the pics I posted here at the time...
This is Tria sunbathing in her cozy bed...
And this is a pic my wife took for the calendar she had made for me for this past Christmas. The whole calendar is made up of great pics of Tria. I want one of the new VX calendars too, but my cat calendar will be the favorite. :-)
Well, we're cat people here, all in doors. And I know now, when I come back, I want to come back as a indoor puddy kat, what a life. Would love to have another Black Dane, but sure that would go over like faltulentus in a church. Could you imagine the damage a dane and 4 cats could do, wow. Anyway, here they are in order of age. First is Ringo, followed by, Micky (pretty boy floyd), Rocky, and Ozzy.
Here is a recent (and new favorite) photo of Meana and Tuna. They were play fighting (I think) over the sunny spot on the chair...

I have a couple of dogs, too. Both of them are mutts, but I love them to death. Charlie (12 yrs. old) was a pound rescue, and looks a little like a blonde German Sheppard. Liefia (14 yrs. old) is a Britney (sp?) Spanial/ Retriever mix. Here's a shot of them hanging out in Telluride a few years ago. They really haven't changed much since.

I took this pic of CeCe today...I like it so much I decided to post it here so you can all enjoy here utter cuteness with me...

HI there. Did someone say PETS? That's my favorite topic so the heck with just lurking - time to add a long-overdue post! I have a rescued Boxer, rescued English Bulldog, and a pug. Representing the bird population we have a Blue and Gold Macaw and an African Grey. Reptiles include 3 adult box turtles, 16 hatchling box turtles, and two indoor water turtles (it was too cold to put them in the pond when I rescued them so they're inside until spring gets here). In the other pond I have "too many to count" koi, goldfish, and frogs. My daughter has a chinchilla and two horses. Guess that's it - I had to cut way back on pets when I went back to work full time.
