Fm/am Cd Receiver Replacement

I like to replace my ALPINE FM /AM CD receiver in my 2000 VX for an IN DASH DVD with monitor.
The ALPINE unit can be detached by pushing the release button and remove the front panel to disconnect the unit from the power source.
My question is, can I just insert the IN DASH UNIT into the present power source or do all units have different power sources.
Any information is appreciated, thanks
