    Better Battery Ground?

The stock ground wire appears to be an 8 ga 20+ inch wire. I want to replace it with some 4 ga wire.

Any thoughts on the best ground point? Should I just run another 20 inch piece to the same point?

Or try a closer point? There is a bolt available just in front of the battery negative terminal on the frame that holds the radiator, only 5 inches from the terminal. And there is a front quarter panel bolt, near the rear headlamp bolt, about 11 inches from the terminal.

Or, am I being a little too anal about this...

Henry, this link is somewhat related to what your doing. Look for kpaske thread on the big three.

    Rowhard,

OK on the link to the "big three" item. Yes, I remember reading that thread. It was just that no one provided any specific details. I am not trying to improve the performance of the VX, just the audio system.

    Kpaske,

Thanks for the information on your installation.

I think the easiest thing will be to just run my 4 ga in parallel with the stock 8 ga to the original ground point.

Any thoughts on the best battery post terminal block?

I was looking at these Raptor battery terminals up on eBay. They look quality, and accept a variety of cable sizes. I'm curious how much of a load the volt meter presents.

    Any thoughts?

They're getting harder to find, but the JL Audio 0ga battery connects are really good.

    Those look sweet, Biju.

I have KnuKonceptz battery terminals. They look really nice, the price is good, but the quality is only average. The nice thing is that they have connectors for 0 ga, 4 ga, as well as a ring connector for lots of flexibility. I would recommend them for mid range systems like mine.

    and also
