    Removing headlight bulbs; any 'how-to' write-ups?

    Okay, so, yesterday I was able to easily replace the front driving lights: reach in from the top, twist a little, pull out the bulb holder, replace the bulb, etc. Simple.

    What I WANT to do is to replace the stock headlight bulbs with a higher-wattage, less-yellow bulb I found on eBay about three years ago!

    But MAN, those headlamp assemblies look intimidating. I don't want to break anything. How do I do this? I could have sworn that there was a step-by-step instruction sheet posted on the old Club Vmag VX website...which is sadly gone.

    Does anyone else have a how-to list anywhere?!?

    It's pretty straight forward...

    Start with the passenger side because you can almost see what you're doing.
    Once you figure it out, you can do it by touch.

    Remove the rubber seal from the back of the housing.

    Stick your finger in & find a metal loop. (about 3/8" dia.)

    You push the loop towards the front of the truck, then either up or down...(it's been a while & I can't remember) to unhook it from a tab. This releases the tension that holds the bulb in place from the back.

    Swing the metal piece with the loop towards the rear & the bulb is released.

    You'll figure out the rest...

    Yeah, like he said.
    Since it is so tight I slid my battery back by loosening the mount and took the top off the air box. Made it alot easier, less cussing.

    Aw what the heck. I'll give it a try this weekend, if it ever stops raining...

    E-Z big fella...it's really not so bad.

    Just go slow & don't force anything...I have seen others post that the little plastic tabs holding the wire/metal loop whatchamacallit (an industry term ) will break if over stressed. Don't do that.

    Also, a warm day, or heated garage, always makes a project go smoother. High temp has been below zero for over a week now & ain't nothing gettin' done on the VX...oh well...it keeps out the riff-raff.
