    Midrange and Midbass speaker placement

I currently have a 2 way component system and I plan on upgrading to a 3 way system to include the midbass. I managed to fit 6.5 midbases in the rear, but now I need a space for the rear 3.5in midrange speakers. Has anyone placed rear speakers in a location other then the stock location?

For the front, I plan on cutting a hole in the front door panels.

We'll see how that pans out.

Just a thought, but you might want to look into the ceiling mount enclosures that the Rodeo had in the rear. I recall the 2 ceiling enclosures in my '97 Rodeo that were mounted on the ceiling just behind the rear seats. Worked well with upgraded speakers, but anytime I was tinkering in the cargo space, I managed to bang my head on them. I think later newer year Rodeos actually had the speakers integrated into the rear ceiling panel so they were recessed.

I did a search for you but could turn nothing up. I think a more extensive search mught find soemthing though. I am quite sure there are aftermarket mounts as well that would be similar.

    Just a thought.

Hmmm that ceiling mount enclosure sounds like a nice idea, as for subs those new JL Audio ones would work perfect!

    That's not a bad idea.

I'd have to use a dremel tool to cut up there, but then the sound would shoot downward towards cargo area... unless of course I angle them forward somehow.

I'm thinking about putting them in the corners facing forward:
